About AUTW
The Andrews University Theatre Wing is a student organized, student funded, and student founded theatre club; dedicated to revitalizing and fostering the theatrical arts on the Andrews University Campus.
Established in the Autumn of 2014, the AUTW has further developed into a student theatre company with a purpose to revive and revitalize the dying higher arts in our scholastic experience. Deemed a “force to be reckoned with” within the AU community, we aim to cultivate and encourage both the development of our members’ acting and producing/managing skills, perpetuating the performing arts for years to come. These objectives are obtained by providing a medium for more student-operated drama productions on campus, through producing two major theatrical stage productions per scholastic year.
The majority of our members have previous stage and theatre experience, whether in a performing role, or in a producing role. Each takes pride in being willing to fulfill any and all necessary tasks to further the success of the our individual productions. These many roles may include: acting, script editing, set design and construction, lighting and sound management, costuming, marketing and event promotion, fundraising, soliciting sponsorships, vision casting, etc.
Ultimately, as an organization, we remain fixed with the intent to promote a deepening appreciation for the dramatic and performing arts on our university campus. Simultaneously, we are committed to providing students with a hands-on learning approach to all the various aspects of theatre production, while offering the necessary resources to complete community service and honors degree hours.
